All things soft & cute

Angel clay ... a new toy for those who loves handicraft ....

Here's what I got from the website http://www.x-ordinary.biz/angel.htm
Angel Clay has a smooth and moist texture that makes you want to keep touching and kneading it. Because it comes in white, Angel Clay gives you the flexibility to create any colour you desire by use of poster colours, highlighters, markers, or any water-based and felt-tip pens.

A major strength of Angel Clay is that water is able to restore its softness and moisture should it dry up due to exposure to air. All you need to do is spray water on it, keep it covered in its container for a few days, and the Angel Clay can be used again!

This bunny is one of my fav ... wished I could bring it home

Part of a huge rose frame

Dun you just want to dip your fingers into the cream ? I do !!

Truly angels .. sweet sweet sweet

Sights of Shen Zhen

Though I have been to Shen Zhen countless times, she never fails to fascinate me.
Here are some sights of Shen Zhen I have captured.

The chinese really love to exercise in the parks & of cos I joined in trying out all the strange looking equipments & gawking at 阿姨们 dancing their graceful fan dance !

Grabbing quick snack at Macs, I spotted the 福娃 & started being quite a nuisance hopping from table to table trying to capture all 5 of them! hehehe .. Bet the locals must be thinking what a "Sua Ku" I am ...

Oh, and this trip being SUMMER, Uncle Eugene decided to drive us down to the beach (and yes I brought my tankini but it NEVER saw daylight ! hahaha) and boy was it CROWDED ! People were everywhere but what's more amazing is that everyone is in the water with a huge yellow swimming ring bobbing to the rhythm of the waves. Oh, and there were parasailing too and I even spotted a lady walking her shoes !(check out the pic) hehehe

An old uncle was also fishing by the shore and being a kaypoh, me decided to "interview" his wife with my limited mandarin (tried to slang some more) and find out more abt them & their catch. It was a pretty enjoyable chat and their simplicity towards life made me realise how materialistic gains can never bring true happiness.

And what is a trip without trying out new food right ? So thats what we did and northern cruisine is so not my cup of tea . Too porky and me no carnivore man.

Adventure to the West

Sunday is my favourite day of the week (minus the Monday Blues which will start to kick in in about 10 minute's time ... Noooooo ... ) cos I can just sleep till the late morning and then slouch on the couch (yeah, more lazing) watching CSI on Supreme Sunday ! What life! hehehe ..

So, today is no different except that my SKYPE went ringing off at 6.45am (yes, that's almost a sin on SUNDAY ! ) & zoombified me literally crawled my way to the pc to say Good Morning to Baby Jun in Shen Zhen . Though I do love Baby Jun but on a Sunday MORNING !! Arrrgghhh .... I am such a swine I know ...heheheh

After convincing uncle Eugene that I will look like a drug addict without my beauty sleep, he finally gave in and shooed me off to my bed but made me promise to keep my SKYPE on so that he can call me from the hospital . Oh, for those not in the know, my grannie is in hospital in Shen Zhen (she is getting better .. thank you) and we communicate & see each other via SKYPE ..thank god for technology!

Anyway, I did drag myself out of my place today. In fact, Sand & I decided to explore the western part of the island (known to many as Jalan Boon Lay/Jurong West) and here's what we saw ...

Big ripe dragonfruit which Sand can hardly keep her hands off ! We did buy a couple of dragonfruits along with some potato leaves, dragon fruit jelly and sweet leaf stevia.

Hmm .... I wonder ??? (By the way, its Thai Passion Fruit )

A not so happy doggie "confronting" our car along Lim Chu Kang Road . I froze in my tracks cos it was just walking directly in my path. Good thing the roads were empty ( Like who else beside us 2 nutcase will go farm hunting on a RAINY day ?!!)
New discovery in a recently opened Sheng Siong along Jalan Boon Lay. The malt favoured milk tasted pretty good (we both bought it !!hahaha)

Spotted along the road, reminded me of how we are all like hamsters living in little square cubicles. Don't get me wrong, I have nothing against living in a flat. In fact, I live in one myself and love being a heartlander. Aunties sitting in void decks, hokkien spewing crowds in rowdy coffeeshops are very much a part of me okie.

Took this pic outside Li Hwa Beer Garden along Yuan Ching Road. Such a retro looking toilet yah. Very 70s ... I can almost imagine folks in bell bottoms and girls in mini dresses in platforms walking out of it .hehehe ... Did I tell you I love the 70s ?!

Rainy weekend

Rain, rain and more rain over the weekend so decided to stay home and play chef on Sat. This was inspired after watching Travel & Living on cable ....hahaha ..

Bottoms Up anyone ?? Heard Extra Virgin Olive Oil is good for health ! = p

Our lunch ..dun look that bad yah ? I love the cucumber in yoghurt .. yummy! And I admit, I ate most of it up ...= )

My version of Aglio Olio minus the spices .. oh, plus succulent prawns ! Love basil !

Another satisfied "customer" .. hehehe .. though Sand loves all things Pasta ...

Firework Festival

Well, decided to blog while waiting for my hair to dry from the late night washing. Yup, I went to the Firework Festival at Marina Bay and the display was spectacular! Din manage to take any pictures cos I had it on video with lots screaming and cheering in the background by yours truly no less! hahaha ... Lesson learnt : NEVER scream when trying to video cos its really embarrassing when replayed ! = P

But before I got to Marina Bay (FINALLY), I had to bear with bumper to bumper traffic along AYE right from Jalan Boon Lay to Keppel, inching every few seconds and fending off "advances" from both lanes with the audacity to squeeze in front of me (which I counted was like a total of 5 cars along the entire journey ... pretty sad case yah). It took me like 1.5hrs through the horrendous Friday Jam and I was literally going out of my mind especially when I see these along the way ...

And yes, I was so bored ( and so stationary!) that I took out my cam and started clicking away

Family Day @ The Movies

Was at NLB's Family Day last Sat afternoon at VIVO CITY and it sure feels good to bump into old friends. Felt like I have never left ...hahaha ...

Anyway, here's pics of Marge & Sand & me ...Mitch & Hubby were seated some rows back so couldn't get a shot of the lovebirds .. = P

I admit, I forced Marge to take this picture with the Michael Jackson look a like (was he supposed to be a wizard ?!) ... he does look scary right but since he gave me a Harry Porter stationary set, I shall spare him my OTHER comments ...hehehe

Here's me, trying to get a pretty shot with the next Movie I wanna watch ... 881 !!! Getai ROCKs ! Oh, and I have pestered my dad to bring me to a happening Getai this weekend. Will update my experience yah .

Love this goofy shot of 2 popcorn loving chicks !

Hey, realised that I do have a pic of Mitch .... feet ! hehehe .... very unlike her right ? Marge, what have you done to your neighbour ??!! = P

Sigh ... yes, I am sick AGAIN & am in charged of Staff Briefing AGAIN ! Bad things do come in pairs too !!
Am working with a guy who is a total SLACK and everything is ... wait, no time .. wait, not important .. grumble grumble abt management .... I am so great ...blah blah blah ... Totally sick of having him on the team and cant wait to see the end of him by Thurs!
Arrgghh ... would love to blog more but my office mailbox is shouting " New message" every other second so I better get back to work ... yes at 11.23 pm .... I have a life .. NOT !
By the way, I just flared up at my temp this afternoon over difference between Arial & Times New Roman , font size 18 & font size 22, single spacing & 1.5 spacing.... is it that difficult to differentiate ??!!! sigh .. Sand will say that I am a tough boss ...hahaha ..

Back from Shen Zhen

Hello ... I am back from 5 days of baby watching, going all goo goo gaa gaa over my cute little cousin Baby Jun.

So here are some cute shots of him ...

Baby Jun in his throne .. the only way to keep him still for just a little while!

Imagine my surpise when I saw his mummy feeding him rice when he doesn't even have any teeth !!

A look of helplessness on his face during his regular hair cut.And yes, he did bawl after this shot ...hahaha ...

Our little handsome one ... only 10 months old and quite a looker ... or more correctly, a charmer cos everywhere we go, he has pretty girls fuss over him ...

As a parting shot .. here's Baby Jun in a "Du Dou" ... cute cute cute!

Italian in the heart of Ghim Moh

For those who have watched "HDB Tai Tai" couple of days back, then you would have seen the introduction of an Italian stall hidden in a typical coffeeshop in Ghim Moh.

Ragazzi the Italian Kitchen
Blk 10 Ghim Moh Road, Ghim Moh Eating House
Mon - Fri , 12pm -10 pm
Sat, Sun, PH , 5pm -10 pm

* Or untill the food runs out ... as we discovered tonight!

Well, thats where we had dinner tonight. No, its not cos of the TV show okie (but I admit, I did watch it !!So auntie right ?!) but I really did bump into this stall during one of my "Dunno what to eat so anyhow drive around" mood, couple of weeks back.

We ordered quite a few dishes among the 4 of us but the soup was a tad too watery for my liking but the rest of the dishes were pretty yummy. See my pics below

Here's what we shared among us , amounting to $40 odd ....

  • Mushroom soup
  • Minestrone soup
  • Garlic Bread
  • Sauteed Forest Mushroom
  • Cabonara pasta
  • Cabonara pasta + egg
  • Funghi aglio olio (which they forgotten & gave us cream sauce)
  • Chicken with Thyme & lemon with mash potatoes
  • Tiramisu

Me and my Food Host wanna be pose ! Yum !

Things you Find in a Malay Wedding

Us at Faridah's daughter's wedding on 22 July 2007. Was on verge of tearing when I hugged her ... so miss everyone!! Oh, and we met Nasir, Mui Eng, Siew Chin, Mariah, Suhaimi, Cheryl, Kuda, Woon San & Hui Chu there too.

I do love being in a multi racial country ... *sings* This is Home .... Truly ... where I know I must Be .......hehehehe

So here are some things typical of a Malay Wedding:

Simple yet elegantly done up .... nice

Anugerah 2007 ? For the idol in us all

Always been facinated by these arrangements ....if you have yet to notice, they are made of egg shells. Each guest will receive a bunga telur, which means 'flower' and 'egg' - a symbol of a fertile union

During the bersanding (sitting in state) ceremony, the bridal couple will be seated on the dais and sprinkled with yellow rice and scented water by family members, relatives and guests as a sign of blessing.

More dancing for the newly wed

Arch of love ... pretty modern feature though ...

Noticed the smiley handsome man .. yes thats Mohd Yusof!! Din even realised he was posing

And what's a wedding without Briyani !!

And Thank You gifts for the guests for their kind generosity

My First Family Day

My first Family Day with ST Engg. Heard was attended by 10,000 pax but they were like all over Siloso Beach. See how wet the signage was ... yup ... we got caught in the rain too

Of cos nothing can dampen our spirits with friends around. Here's a pic of some of my colleagues and their family.
And here's me and my twin .. hiding from the rain...so nothing to do, take pic lor ..hahaha

The highlight of the day ... President SR Nathan gracing our event... apologies for the blurred pic but there were so many pple trying to snap pics. Best we could do.. = P

Time to Read

Was doing an online survey on reading habits for my profession and *gasp* realised that I spent less than 5 hours a week on reading! This is really really bad . So, to motivate myself, we hopped by to Kinno this evening and gotten myself a HRM Singapore mag (just flipped thru and I think this issue is Boring) and Richard Templar's Rules of Management....amongst a bling bling Solvil Titus watch, a pair of cool black heels, yummy JUMBO tonkatsu dinner etc etc etc .. one needs motivation right ??? hahahah

Anyway, for those unfamiliar with the RULES .. here's how it looks .. By the way, my entire family is reading the rest of the 3 RULES (Rules of Work, Rules of Life & Rules of Wealth) !! And no .. we are NOT Civil Servants ... just law abiding citizens ...hahaha .. okie, thats corny ...

Which Dog Breed Are You?

Gotten this from Teresa Barbie's blog ... pretty fun ... and I do LOVE Golden so YEAH !!
Pssst ... must let me know what breed you are okie ??

discover your dog breed @ quiz meme
