Neat tricks with my new toy

Yup, I finally bought myself a new camera. Yes, I hear you saying ... why do you need ANOTHER camera ( a canon S5 Is .. yippie ) right ?!!! Hehehe ...sorry .. I am an impulsive shopper .. = P

In any case, this latest baby of mine (thinking of a name, how about Carl ?) is way cool and I love the colour swap/accent function.

So here are some pics of whacky colors ..

Maroon leaves ?

How about a blue apple & nails ?

Or pink highlights for Pretty Belle ??

Fun Pics @ Work

As most of you will know by now that personal camera is TOTALLY prohibited within my company premises but since I love to keep & take (hehehe) pictures, your dear friend here has managed to find a way out!

No I did not sneak in my own ... dun anyhow say ah ... security violation ah ...hehehe ...

I just convinced my boss to get an OFFICIAL camera for my HR activities ! But I really did take official pics okie ... just that I added more fun stuff too .

So here's a peek at some more fun events.

Taken at the recent Staff Briefing at SP Convention Centre. This is the organising committee and the BIG BIG boss (yup, the President) is the cute guy with the bottle in hand. Hehehe

This is a pic of the HR girls preparing for our song & dance item (singing a HOKKIEN ditty - Ji Pa Ban !!) for the Thank You Dinner in Feb at our own Karaoke Lounge (very 80s one okie ... latest song is like Zhou Hua Jian's Peng You !!) .

Since it was Chinese New Year season, we decided to wear red with CHILLI RED lipstick for impact. Looks quite scary right ? Too bad we couldn't convince the boys to do the lippie thingy too !

And introducing the guys too ... since there are 4 of them (1 disappeared from the pic), they were given the title of F4 (quite unwillingly too). And how to sing Ji Pa Ban without props right ? So must show off our US1 billion ... = )

Though I am totally lost in Hokkien, I had fun dancing & doing corny actions (though not as hot as our pussy cat dolls performance of cos .. this is way mild! )

Oh and this pic was taken last Dec at HR Xmas Party where we had a competition to decorate the scarf. Here's Janey & me with our final creation. Not bad right ? Won a tiny prize too .hehehe

And us with our presents from the exchange and I had the BIGGEST parcel ...YEAH !! It was a Xmasy back cushion & a jelly bean dispenser from a secret pal. We never did reveal who bought the presents...

NATAS Travel Fair

Waking up at 8.30am on a Sunday morning was almost a sin in Wendy's book but what to do, Mum overrides all desire to crawl back into the my "nest" so there I was at Sing Expo bright and early.

So what was my role there ? For those who went for the fair, you were made to wear a wrist tag (like in Disneyland or Genting Highlands) right ? So I decided to be the "Official" wrist tag helper for the day cos so many pple were struggling ! Hahaha ... In no time I could tear off the sticker and attach to visitors' wrists in 1 smooth move ok.

And it was interesting to note that Singaporeans are generally quite obedient and polite but I had my fair share of visitors who refused to wear the tags and made nasty remarks. Some remarked that they felt like patients being hospitalised and that it was bad luck ! Others said it was like a prisoner !So incredible right

Some rude Aunties gave me the impression that I was SUPPOSED to wait on them like a maid and brushed me aside after I have attached the tags on their wrist. The audacity !! *Fumes*

Anyway, when I got bored, I decided to bring the camera round the fair and here's what I took. Was a little disappointed as the fair this time round was not as fanciful & colourful. Guess Singaporeans are practical and have no time for marketing gimicks. All you need to attact them is to show a huge sign with DISCOUNT ! REDUCED PRICES ! and they are sold...hehehe

Mum & company were very proud of the marketing this time round. Honestly it was more sophisticated than previous years. Not too bad.
Very literally a symbol of Desaru Fruit Farm ... made of real fruits & I was tempted to sneak a dragonfruit into my jeans. Yah right ?!

Lonely Planet no more ..

My dream holiday to Japan. Prime Travel is premium quality man.

Since I can't see my cherry blossom this year, I will settle for illusion...

Interesting Philippines Booth. Like a little hut.

A cushion for every korean home .. love the colours !

Chariot Procession in the heart of Seng Kang

I was happily sending hatching eggs and poking my friends in Facebook when the sound of drums and pipes was heard in the distance.Curiousity got the better of me as the sound became increasingly loud so I took a peek out of the window and saw a procession approaching!

Here comes a good photography opportunity so I dashed to my void deck with camera in hand . And yes, in my very auntie shorts and slipperts ...hehehe

So here are some shots I have gotten .

This is the chariot, along with the guardians, which is bringing the Deity around the estate.

Crowds gathering to pay their respects and of course, some Kay Poh ones like me to watch the procession.

Devotees of different races with their offerings waiting in line.

Here's a look at the offerings.

Such events like this make me realise how fortunate I am to live in a multi racial society and how proud I am to be a Singaporean.

Standing amongst the crowd of mostly Indians, no one even gave me a second look, cos I am sure I stood out like a sore thumb, and some even smiled at me and made way for me to snap the pictures. Thats what I love, tolerance and acceptance of one's difference.

ROM Party

A must have at an ROM Party . Pink tulips ...Isn't it beautiful ?

Nicely decorated patio , with flowing sash and little bouquets along the handrail...how romantic

The all important document to a lifelong union... I Do, I Do ...

And the newly wed ! Err ...who looks strangely identical to my parents ??!!Hehehe

Ok ok .. here's the rightful owners of this wonderful day, Uncle Martin & his wife, May, in a picture with us .

A sad reminder

Was just clearing the mountain of emails on my yahoo when I came across a birthday reminder that brought tears to my eyes. A reminder of someone who has left us quite recently to meet her maker but has never been far from my mind .

I count my blessings for this angel who has touched my life .

Day 4 - Our first experience on the Snow Mobil!

Day 4 in Takayama was filled with anticipation as we were told this is THE day & we can finally ride on the Snow Mobil!Yahoo !! Snow ... snow everywhere .. I feel like I am in heaven ...hehehe

Here's us in our stylo mylo gear ... though Sand will tell you that I can hardly squeeze into the helmet ...hahaha ...and I thought my head was proportionately smaller !!

Getting the 2 of us into the snow mobile was not an easy task cos of our bulky jackets but we finally made it. Very good cushioning !!hehehe

Off we went round the track and thinking that the one with the driving license will have more control of the vehicle (what a MAJOR mistake!!), Sand put me behind the wheel ....*gasp*

For someone with short & stumpy fingers, it was VERY difficult to control the acceleration (yup, it operates like a jet ski) & steer the vehicle at corners and you guessed it, not only did I dived straight into the snow wall & got stuck once, I did it TWICE !!!

Major malu cos we had at least 8 more snow mobiles trailing behind us and we blocked the entire path !hahahaha...

Good thing was that our tour mates were really helpful and came to our rescue (too bad all came along with their spouses ... darn !hahahaha) But I must say that I dreaded all corners and sweat buckets whenever one is near .. thankfully I finally got the hang of things & we had a great time stopping along to take some breathe taking pictures. The sky was in the most beautiful shade of blue with cottony white clouds drifting along.

Here are pics taken along the way ...enjoy !

This is pic that Sand tried to take of me while riding pillion ...check out my soaked face .. told you it was HARD work ! My arms ached for the rest of the trip ...

Finally at the finishing line!! Yipppee !!

And time for SNOW FIGHT !! Here I come .....

All satisfied sitting in the snow (my butt was wet man).... except for the frost bite which I will only experience 1 day later ....hehehe

Sand attempting the snow sledge ???

Err ... from all the way up there ? Notice the brave soul standing at the little hut ... no that was NOT us ....hehehe ...

Wheeeee ......my favourite pic of our little tour mate zooming down the slope ...

See I tried too ....ok ok, I admit, I posed with the sledge but it looks real right ???!!

And a perfectly timed ending pose ! Though it looks more like surfing ....hahaha

Sand infected by my kawaii-ness

All hot & sweaty but I LOVE it !!
